I Saw A Fruit Tree Without Its Roots is a slice of life drama centered around Julie, an Asian-American teen, who is surprised to learn her parents are moving back to Taiwan and is also dealing with the fact that she’s in love with her family friend Alex–but he’s only into White girls. Meanwhile David, her best friend, is struggling with a recent break up and the emasculation he feels as an Asian man. The all Asian cast in this story are all processing harm and internalized beliefs but come together to understand each other, overcome stereotypes, and find love.
