Black Arts Movement School Modality: Milan Session on the Rainbow

The Museo delle Culture (MUDEC) hosts an exhibition project composed of different stories related to the rainbow as a natural, cultural, spiritual, and human phenomenon. The Black Arts Movement School Modality will hold a related course session from May 22–26, 8:30–10:30am CDT that examines “rainbow consciousness,” black internationalism, as well as the use of the rainbow as a metaphor for inclusivity and political coalition building. Bob Lee and Eleanor Yung will speak to the histories of the Basement Workshop, Asian American Dance Theatre, Asian American Arts Centre, and Afro-Asian solidarities in the 1960s-70s art movements.
