Gene Ess & Fractal Attraction in Brooklyn, NYC

On Oct 23, Joseph Branciforte, Sebastien Ammann and Gene Ess will present an afternoon of original music at Scholes Street Studio. The concert will start at 11:45AM and will feature 3 bands. First Set - Sound artists Joseph Branciforte and Hiroshi Ebina present a set of ambient/experimental music incorporating Fender Rhodes, glockenspiel, modular synthesizers, laptop, found objects, and an array of looping devices.Second Set - Sebastien Ammann and Steel Fern Quartet. Materializing out of the distinct energies of each band member, Steel Fern brings to life compositions of all four musicians and creates an ever changing set of original music and improvisations. Jake Henry - trumpet, Sebastien Ammann - piano, Chris van Voorst van Beest - bass, Max Goldman - drumsThird Set - Gene Ess and Fractal Attraction will perform original works from their new album “Absurdist Theater”. The band features Thana Alexa on voice, Yasushi Nakamura on bass, Gene Ess on guitar, guest Sebastien Ammann on piano, and Allan Mednard on drums.
