Flagstad - Triumph and Tragedy

Scandinavia House presents “Flagstad - Triumph and Tragedy,” an intimate portrait of the great Norwegian soprano Kirsten Flagstad (1895-1962), written and directed by Norwegian playwright Elnar Bjorge, and starring renowned Norwegian actress Nina Bendiksen. The one-woman play, which runs one hour, will be performed here in English and utilizes personal writings and rare recordings of Flagstad, considered by many to be the voice of the century.
