Film Lab Presents: ACTING and FILMMAKING with ANTHONY MEINDL

Thursday, August 27, 2020
8 – 8:45PM
In this special Virtual Workshop hosted by the Asian American Film Lab, Anthony Meindl of AMAW Studios Worldwide will discuss acting, filmmaking, and industry tips! RSVP’d attendees will receive a private, password-protected, invitation to join a Q&A on Zoom, but it will also be live-streamed via Periscope for overflow if we reach capacity. Simply donate what you will to support gender and racial parity in the arts. The Q&A will be moderated by Film Lab’s AAFL TV production engineer, Ray Lanuza, and the 2020 Shootout Coordinator Tyler Ham Pong. If you would like to submit questions for Anthony, please email them to shootout@film-lab.org anytime before August 26th 11:59pm EST.
Anthony Meindl is a judge and mentor for the Film Lab’s annual filmmaking competition, the 72 Hour Shootout’s newest categories: Outstanding LGBTQ Filmmaker and Outstanding LGBTQ Performer. He is an LA-based Writer/Director/Teacher/Founder of AMAW studios worldwide, with studios in LA, London, NY, Santa Fe, Vancouver, Toronto, Sydney and Atlanta. He has also taught internationally in Sofia, Rome, Capetown, Melbourne, and Paris. He has guest lectured at the Gaiety School/The National Theatre School of Ireland, the prestigious Moscow Art Theater, the Actors Centre London, and is the guest acting teacher at David Lynch’s Masters of Filmmaking Program in Fairfield, Iowa. He is the author of three books: The best-selling At Left Brain Turn Right, Book The Fucking Job and Alphabet Soup for Grown-ups.
