Embodied Technology: "After Yang" & "Verse"
3 – 5:30PM
On Saturday, November 7, the Museum of the Moving Image will screen Kogonada’s “After Yang” (2021), preceded by “VERSE” (2026) directed by Noam Argov. Both directors will be there in person for a conversation moderated by Sonia Shechet Epstein, Curator of Science and Technology at MoMI and Executive Editor, Sloan Science & Film.
“After Yang” follows a family grieving the android who helped raise their daughter, and “VERSE”, which premiered at Tribeca this year, follows Adam, a 17-year-old who decides to meet his VR girlfriend in real life. Seen together, they open up a beautiful conversation about technology, our bodies, and what makes connection real.
This screening is a part of MoMI’s Science on Screen series, programmed in conjunction with their current exhibition, “Overexposed: Art, Technology, and the Body.” Both featured films have received recognition and/or support from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation’s program in Public Understanding of Science and Technology.
TICKETS: $17.50 General Admission / $12 Students & Seniors / $10 Youth / Free for MoMI members
Visitors are encouraged to view the exhibition “Overexposed: Art, Technology, and the Body,” which can be added on to their film ticket for $2.50.
