Clothesline

November 13 – November 14, 2025

Clothesline is a contemporary Indian dance story, told from the perspective of a sari which is passed down through generations of Indian women. In addition to exploring themes of home, homesickness, and heritage inheritance, this show is largely about laundry, musing about how culture fades with each wash.

While this story is rooted in South Asian and Karnataka culture, the themes explored are universal. How do you define home? Is there a way that you can find a home away from home? Is your inherent identity redefined as you physically move from place to place? How can you maintain connections with your roots and upbringings while staying present in your current spatial and cultural circumstances?
