ChuanFest – An AAPI Contemporary Performance Festival

ChuanFest is an AAPI interdisciplinary performance festival organized by the award-winning in-version ensemble. The Festival, spanning four days (July 9–July 12), has six main shows alongside an interactive installation, a prelude poetry workshop, and a community gathering with food-making, across two venues in the East Village and Astoria, Queens.

Program A (Day 1 and Day 3):

  • I am that I am (Choreopoem) by Hung Ha with opening After the Burning (Performance) by Wisteria Deng

Program B (Day 2 and Day 4):

  • Study of Skin (Lecture Performance) by Jane Jian Su
  • Even Monkeys Fall From Trees (Solo Performance, Theater) by Stella Oh
  • SeekSaw (Performance) by Jieru Wang

Free Programs:

  • Vanishing 4.0 – Recollection (Durational Performance, Interactive Installation): Day 1–4 throughout the festival
  • Vanishing 2.0 – Community Gathering (Food sharing & network event): Day 3
  • To the Other Shore (Poetry Workshop): June 28 at Accent Sisters Union Square
