Chinatown Downtown Revitalization Initiative
6 – 8PM
The Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) is a cornerstone of the State’s economic development program that transforms downtown neighborhoods into vibrant centers that offer a high quality of life and are magnets for redevelopment, business, job creation, and economic and housing diversity. This year, Chinatown was awarded with $20 million from the New York State Department of State (DOS) for transformative capital projects.
As a part of the process of involving the local communities within the Chinatown DRI area in planning efforts, the Chinatown DRI Local Planning Committee (LPC) invites you to participate in the third and last public event at Manny Canton Center. Over the past couple of months, Chinatown and citywide organizations submitted over 40 project proposals to the LPC.
The second public event helped refine the projects further. The third public event aims to share eligible projects with the community and understand community concerns, needs, and information gaps related to submitted projects before the LPC votes on the projects. Your input will help the LPC prioritize investment strategies and decide which projects to recommend to the State for funding.
