Writers x Literature Translation

Art Omi: Writers is seeking proposals from Korean-language translators for a funded three-week residency in fall 2026 in partnership with the Literature Translation Institute of Korea. This opportunity is expressly for those who are translating Korean literature into English, and will take place during the Fall 1 Session, Thursday, September 24–Thursday, October 15, 2026. Exact details regarding the stipend and travel support will be available when the selected candidate is notified in spring 2026.

Requirements

Candidates must submit the following:

1. A CV or resume
2. A one-page statement regarding the project to be undertaken at Art Omi, including a brief biographical sketch of the author whose work will be translated
3. A 10-page translation work sample (preferably of the proposed project, but a sample from an unrelated project is also fine)
