Apply for your Residency now!

Supporting photography-based artists, writers and curators
and the dialogue around diversity, race, identity, and social justice

Residencies can change lives and set careers on a path for success. CPW’s renowned artist-in-residence program, Woodstock AIR, has supported artists such as LaToya Ruby Frazier, Paul Mpagi Sepuya, William Cordova and Xaviera Simmons early in their careers, providing them with a reaffirming experience of technical, creative and critical support.

Woodstock AIR was created in 1999 to support photography-based artists of color, and to expand the dialogue around diversity, race and identity in the context of social justice. Since then 137 artists, writers and curators have come through the program. Support includes a $2,000 honorarium, 24/7 access to CPW’s workspace facilities, including a darkroom, digital lab, studio, research library and more.

If you feel you could benefit from a 4-6 week creative period in a nurturing environment, please apply now. If you know of others who would benefit from the experience, please share this call with them. Anybody may apply, however, priority will be given to artists of color or those whose work engages with topics of diversity and race in the context of social justice.

Deadline to apply is FEBRUARY 24, 2020 at 12 noon EST.
