Gallery 456 / Chinese American Arts Council is seeking a motivated and responsible volunteer/intern to support gallery operations, cultural programming, communications, and administrative work.

Schedule: 2 days per week, 4 hrs per day. Some evening event attendance will be required as part of the position.

Responsibilities
* Social Media & Communications: Draft and produce photos and short videos for social media; assist with press releases and keep the website and other communication channels updated.
* Gallery Operations: Help maintain Gallery 456’s exhibition and public spaces in a clean, tidy, and welcoming condition.
* Front Desk: Welcome visitors, answer phone calls and inquiries, and provide general information about exhibitions and programs.
* Event Support: Assist the Program Manager with event planning, preparation, and on-site coordination, including attendance at some evening events.
* Artist Communication: Communicate with artists regarding exhibitions, programs, scheduling, materials, and other project-related matters.
* Development & Archives: Assist with research related to organizational development, fundraising, and the preservation and organization of institutional archives.
* Administrative Support: Assist the Executive Director and Program Manager with administrative and program-related tasks as needed.
* Other Duties: Assist with errands and other responsibilities as assigned.

Compensation & Academic Credit
* Lunch and commuting expenses will be provided.
* The organization is willing to facilitate academic/internship credit in coordination with the intern’s school or academic program.
* Letters of recommendation are available upon request for interns who successfully complete their work with the organization.

Ideal Candidate
Gallery 456 / Chinese American Arts Council welcomes individuals who are interested in visual arts, performing arts, cultural programming, nonprofit organizations, and community engagement. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are valued. Experience with social media, photography, video production, writing, or arts administration is a plus.
