The Here and There Collective (THAT) is committed to supporting contemporary artists from the Asian diaspora through various programs including artist features, events, and an artist residency program. Since 2022, our residency program has provided artists access to a private studio in Brooklyn, NY for 6 months. The program offers artists time and resources to develop their practice as well as opportunities to connect with THAT’s community of artists, writers, gallerists, and curators.
What you will get
- 24/7 private access to our studio space located in Brooklyn, NY for a 6 month period
- Opportunities to connect with THAT’s community of artists, writers, gallerists, and curators
- Artist Feature with video interview shared on THAT platform
- A limited-release artist book including images, essay(s), and interview(s) published within the year following the end of the residency
Requirements
- Open to all artists who self-identify as part of the Asian-diaspora
- Must be able to commute to studio space located in the Bushwick neighborhood in Brooklyn, NY
- Artists will be granted access to THAT Studio for 6 months
- The start date will either be in June or December (to be confirmed if selected). Note: The residency is for studio space only. Accommodations, visa sponsorship, cost of living, art materials, transportation, or other stipends are NOT included.

- A vetted selection committee will review applications
- Due to the volume of applications, THAT will not be able to provide feedback at this time – only finalists will be contacted for interviews in April
