Resnicow and Associates is seeking up to three interns to support their NYC office in summer 2026, with roles spanning media relations, digital, and operations. Applicants should currently be enrolled in an undergraduate program and positions are best suited for rising juniors and seniors. This internship is part of an effort to increase representation of BIPOC voices in the field and in the arts at large, so we highly encourage BIPOC candidates with a demonstrated interest in the arts to apply.

Internships are paid ($17/hour), beginning June 2026 and ending August 2026 (end date is flexible, depending on university schedules). The internship can be used for college credit. The position will be based remotely and/or in person, depending on the preference of the intern, and interns are asked to work 20 to 30 hours per week, depending on schedules.

All R+A interns will:
-Work on projects that align with their personal and professional interests
-Develop work products that can be added to their professional portfolios
-Receive professional development in the form of trainings, workshops, and networking opportunities
-Have opportunities to attend events and experiences at arts and culture organizations around New York City
-Be assigned a dedicated mentor to provide guidance and support throughout the internship

Requirements

MEDIA RELATIONS INTERN:

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in arts and culture, be engaged in the evolving media landscape, demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, and be hardworking and organized. The intern will report to a senior team leader, who will serve as a manager on day-to-day tasks.

The role will provide hands-on experience working in a leading PR agency, liaising with media, developing press materials, implementing communications strategies, and supporting client relations.

Through this internship you will:

Support communications campaigns for multiple clients across visual arts, performing arts, architecture and design, and culture, with day-to-day tasks including but not limited to:

-Drafting written materials, such as press releases, pitches, and social media copy
-Brainstorming story ideas and media targets
-Building tailored media lists
-Tracking and reporting coverage
-Participating in team strategy meetings and calls with clients
-Gain experience working in a fast-paced agency setting while increasing your knowledge of the wider media landscape and art and cultural world
-Refine your writing and research skills

-Deepen your understanding of PR campaigns, from strategy to execution
-Learn how to build meaningful relationships with media through pitching and cultivation

DIGITAL INTERN:

The Digital Intern will support R+A and its clients across arts and culture with their digital strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in arts and culture, be engaged in the evolving digital landscape, demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, and be hardworking and organized. The intern will work directly with the Associate Director of Digital, who will serve as a manager on day-to-day account tasks.

Through this internship you will:

-Support the day-to-day management of R+A’s platforms, including development and scheduling of compelling social media content and community management
-Monitor clients’ and competitors’ social media platforms
-Gain experience conducting ongoing analytics reporting for agency and client platforms and campaigns
-Work with multiple account teams to support the implementation of select digital campaigns
-Learn about best practices and help develop knowledge databases

The intern should have familiarity with social media as a professional communications platform, and an interest in communications/marketing/public relations; an interest in furthering their written communications skills to address a wide range of audiences; and an interest in learning more about analytics tools and metrics.

OPERATIONS INTERN:

The ideal candidate will be an intellectually curious problem solver with a strong interest in arts and culture; demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills; and be detail-oriented, hardworking, and organized. The intern will report to the Operations Manager and Senior Vice President of Operations, who will serve as managers on day-to-day account tasks.

Through this internship you will:

-Build an understanding of how a communications agency operates
-Gain experience working in a fast-paced setting while increasing your understanding of the structures and systems that support communications work
-Have the opportunity to learn about the media landscape and database management
-Build fluency in the administrative and operational tasks that undergird communications campaigns and support client teams
-Learn how to think strategically about internal processes and evaluate systems for efficiency and effectiveness
-Refine your organization and communications skills
