Stage 14C Open Call

Stage 14C is ARTS 14C’s new annual performing arts festival — three days when musicians, actors, dancers, comedians, poets, and multidisciplinary artists transform the Jersey City campus into a network of stages. There’s no single path through the weekend. Audiences wander from studio to studio, stage to stage, encountering a different discipline behind every door.

Stage 14C isn’t just a weekend of performances. It’s three days of creative exchange.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 6 - 6pm-10pm Opening Celebration. VIP reception. Highlighted performances.
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 7 - 4pm-10pm Festival Day. Performances on up to 24 stages. Food. Drinks. Audiences exploring.
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 8 - 1pm-6pm Family Day. All ages welcome.

While Stage 14C serves as a fundraiser supporting ARTS 14C’s nonprofit mission, they also believe that artists deserve to be supported. In addition to performing as part of the festival, selected artists can receive a combination of financial, professional and logistical support, depending on the needs of the project.

REHEARSAL SPACE
Selected artists may receive complimentary rehearsal time in ARTS 14C studios in the weeks leading up to the festival.

PROFESSIONAL DOCUMENTATION
Photography, video recording and/or audio recording opportunities to help artists build portfolios and promotional materials.

ACCOMMODATION
Overnight accommodation may be available for select visiting artists.

COMMUNITY
Participation introduces artists to fellow performers and audiences from across disciplines.

Requirements

They welcome applications from performers and creators working across the full spectrum of live performance. Whether you’re presenting a finished production, a new work or an experimental performance, they’re looking for artists with something compelling to share. Applicants will be asked to provide:

• Artist or company biography
• Description of the proposed performance
• Photos, video and/or audio samples
• Technical requirements
• Space requirements
• Preferred performance length
• Preferred performance dates

Applications will be reviewed by the Stage 14C Artist Advisory Committee. Selections are based on artistic quality, originality, feasibility and each performance’s contribution to creating a dynamic, multidisciplinary festival.
