Somewhere INN Between is a grounded, character-driven dramedy set inside a struggling family owned motel. Each episode follows the Kim family as they run Penny Inn while navigating difficult guests, financial pressure, and the chaos of immigrant life in America.
Seeking actors to portray:
JO KIM (Lead, 15) : Jo Kim is an observant, emotionally overqualified teenager who has grown up behind the front desk of her parents’ failing motel. Fluent in English and Korean, Jo acts as the family’s
translator, mediator, and first line of defense against a world that regularly underestimates and
exploits them.
MRS KIM/HYOSUN (Supporting, 46) : Mrs. Kim is a hardworking, anxious immigrant mother who believes constant effort is the only way to stay afloat. She moves fast, talks faster, and worries about everything whether that’s money, appearances, or her daughter’s future. Control is how she shows love.
MR KIM/JIUNG (Supporting, 50s) : Mr. Kim is calm, gentle, and dependable. He fixes what breaks, avoids confrontation, and believes keeping the peace is the best way to survive. Where his wife worries out loud, he carries stress quietly.
Shooting dates are 10 - 12 April in the NY/NJ area. This is project is unpaid- talent will be provided with credit, a copy of the final film, and meals will be provided on set.
