Solo Artist Project at Center for Book Arts

The Solo Artist Project exhibition series has been demonstrating the breadth of book art for over 15 years. Designed originally to provide artist members of the Center with the opportunity to display their work, the Center for Book Arts now invites all artists working within the realm of Book Art to submit an application. Preference will be given to projects that challenge our assumptions of Book Art and resonate with the greater New York population.

We are seeking solo project exhibition proposals from artists working within the book arts. Artists are to submit a project concept experimenting within the Book format.

This exhibition series is a competitive process and intended to provide artists with the opportunity to display the following type of projects created within the past 5 years:

1. A recent body of work that demonstrates a cohesive artistic approach
2. A recent body of work that demonstrates a cohesive theme, issue, and/or subject matter
3. A site-specific installation
4. A collaborative project that is theme or medium specific

Requirements

Submissions should include:
- 10 images of recent work samples (produced within the last 2 years)
- Artist’s CV
- 100 word artist bio
- A 500 word solo exhibition proposal
- Working link to the artist’s website
