ABOUT THE ROLE:
Position: Social Media Manager

Reports To: Director of Marketing
Salary: $40,000

The Social Media Manager at McCarter is key to telling and reinforcing our story through the creation, curation, and management of McCarter’s social media and content strategy. We’re looking for someone creative and collaborative who is interested in exploring new ideas with us.

Requirements

PRINCIPLE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Supervise McCarter’s presence on the suite of social networks, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Google Business
-Work with the Director of Marketing and outside digital agency to create and publish content that engages current and potential patrons with McCarter programming and institutional messaging
-Collaborate across departments to stay on top of the latest stories we want to share and amplify
-Interact digitally with local businesses and organizations to create conversation and build community
-Create guides for staff members and visiting artists to submit or publish their own McCarter content
-Edit graphics and videos as needed
-Analyze success of campaigns
-Stay informed of current social media and content marketing strategies trends

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-Experience managing branded social media accounts
-Understanding of key metrics to measure success of campaigns
-Strong writing, photography, videography, and design skills
-Collaborative and innovative creativity
-Flexibility to work occasional nights and weekends
-Understanding of equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility — and how that applies to social media management

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-Experience working in an administrative setting
-A passion for supporting the arts through arts management
-Proficiency with editing software
-Knowledge of project management and social media calendaring systems
