Seeking an SE/South Asian actress ideally 60 years or older, or who can play that, for a developmental public reading of new play “FREE! TONIGHT!!” by Emma Callahan. The reading will be a part of LimeFest, presented by the Tank, a festival of new works written by gender minority writers. This is a paid role, and actors will be paid out from a cut of the ticket sales. Find the character description below:
THE HARPY, a strange traveler on the train, but not a stranger. Has a sweet tooth. She often changes, with the train.
The Harpy is a character based on Greek Harpies, immortal messengers of the Fates. But this Harpy is one that perhaps drank and partied a bit too much in the 70s, got a little lost from her mission, and haunts around New York largely by herself nowadays.

PLAY BLURB HERE:
Tonight, Halloween night, Priscila, little sister Laney, and best friend Siobhan are seated on an uptown train at the threshold of booze, pills, and wet tongues: Their first party. But, a white lie alters the trajectory of the subway and their tenuous sisterhood. From treacherous brushes with uncanny characters, to quietly unraveling the contradictions of mestiza identity, the play takes us through the looking glass to question the privilege, safety, and belonging of Asian New Yorkers.
