Silent Acting Roles Available:

• Older Pinkerton: Caucasian or Hispanic male. Approximately 50-65 years old. Portrays a dying father looking for redemption for sins of his past and reconciliation with his adult son.
• Adult Son of Pinkerton: Male, to portray the son of a Caucasian father and Japanese mother. Multi-racial performers of Asian heritage are encouraged to apply. Approximately 30 years old. This character has struggled as a multi-racial child in the early 20th Century, without specific knowledge of his biological Japanese mother, and lacking support/understanding of his struggles from his Caucasian father. He carries the weight of that through the piece. His father hands him a letter from his deathbed with an explanation of his family history and acknowledgement of the father’s past wrongs. The son is then transported back in time to witness these events unfold in his imagination while reading the letter.

Description of roles: Both roles portray older versions of characters in the Opera. Successful candidates will be able to convey a story and emotional expression without words in relation to music.

Please note: The roles are fit with an AGMA Principal Agreement with a minimum per performance salary. Selected artists may be required to join the American Guild of Musical Artists and pay initiation fees and dues. Principal Artists are notified of their daily rehearsal schedule the evening prior to their next day of work and are required to remain available for all rehearsal times which generally take place between the hours of 10:00 am – 11:00 pm.
