Signature Theatre, one of New York’s leading off-Broadway theatres, is seeking a RENTALS MANAGER for The Pershing Square Signature Center on West 42nd Street.

About Signature
Founded in 1991, Signature Theatre celebrates playwrights and gives them an artistic home, producing six to eight productions annually. In 2005 Signature began its groundbreaking Signature Ticket Initiative, providing affordable tickets to all of its productions. In 2012, Signature opened The Pershing Square Signature Center, the Frank Gehry-designed 75,000 square foot Center featuring three theatres, two rehearsal studios, a central, public lobby with a café and bookstore, as well as administrative offices.

Position Summary
Signature Theatre is looking for a full-time Rentals Manager with an entrepreneurial spirit and creative mindset to help shape and mold the rentals program at The Pershing Square Signature Center. The ideal candidate will be a strong team player who works well under pressure, provides stellar customer service, and possesses great attention to detail with strong organization, written, and interpersonal skills.

Reporting directly to the General Manager and Associate General Manager (AGM), the Rentals Manager develops and stewards rental relationships from initial inquiries through event completion.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary liaison for client relations with prospective and current rentals
  • Work with the AGM in the development of rental business strategies, budget projections, and ongoing program development
  • Draft and negotiate contracts
  • Work closely with Venue Operations Manager regarding space availability, day-to-day client needs and production elements for rental events
  • Track receipt of contracts, payments, insurance, production plans and schedules, marketing and display materials, and ticketing information
  • Outreach to event planners and potential rental clients
  • Conduct ongoing venue research, comparison data, and related projects
  • Collaborate on rental marketing and promotional efforts
  • Respond to inquiries, conduct site tours, and provide information to prospective renters about the Center’s space and amenities
  • Communicate interdepartmentally about rental bookings and event details; departments may include Production, Facilities, Marketing, Audience Services and/or catering
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors
  • Assist with other rental administrative duties, as needed

Compensation
This is a full-time salaried exempt position. Annual salary is $60,000.

Requirements

Desired Experience
• Professional experience in special event planning, rental or theatrical management, or other comparable experience and knowledge of the NYC corporate meeting/special events scene and industry is desired.
