CUE’s annual open call provides emerging and underrepresented artists and curators the opportunity and necessary resources to realize an exhibition at CUE’s storefront gallery space on West 25th Street in Manhattan, New York City.
Each year, the open call awards three opportunities for solo exhibitions and one opportunity to organize a curatorial group show at CUE. Each awardee will be paired with a mentor, an established artist or curator who will work with them throughout the process of conceptualizing and planning their exhibition.
As part of this opportunity, selected artists and curators will receive a dedicated honorarium, as well as support from CUE in the form of planning, production, design, and communications. CUE also produces a print catalogue for each exhibition, with a specifically commissioned essay authored by a participant in the Art Critic Mentorship Program.
They invite applications that are aligned with CUE’s mission to support emerging and underrepresented artists and art workers, and to present work that challenges public perceptions and that has been less visible in commercial and institutional venues. They encourage all whose background and practice aligns with this mission to apply!
