You’ve probably heard that the divisive and isolating time you’re living in right now is historic, unprecedented, and wholly new. But to what extent is that true, if at all? What are tried techniques, new innovations, and visionary imaginations for battling personal, social, and societal disunion and loneliness? The Solidarity Short Film Series will attempt to intervene mainstream, one-dimensional narratives of detachment, apathy, and severance by highlighting ways that individuals/groups of people have/can come together across race, ethnicity, class, religion, gender, nationality, and other demarcations of fragmentation.

Whether through the lens of queer joy, pro-Palestine activism, class consciousness, police abolitionism, contraception and abortion access, racial justice movements, cultural phenomena, fantastical ideation, whimsical creation, all of the above, or others, this Short Film Series invites artists to ponder, confront, action, and represent (m)any dimension(s) of what “Solidarity” means.

  • The Solidarity Film Series will occur in September. Exact date(s) TBD according to filmmakers’ availability and the amount of eligible submissions. Details to come…
  • Accent Sisters encourages all artists – from beginners to students to known artists – to submit. NO formal training or schooling in filmmaking required.
