Launched in 2022, New Voices is Print Center New York’s annual open call program, which provides opportunities for a curator-selected cohort of six to eight U.S.–based artists to present their work and develop their practices through a group exhibition, artist-led public programming, focused conversation and community-building, and individualized resources for artistic and professional development.

Applications are due by 11:59 pm ET on September 8, 2023.
Programs Feature
Group Exhibition (anticipated June 6—August 24, 2024)
Selected works by each of the cohort artists will be on view in Print Center New York’s ground floor gallery at 535 West 24th Street in Chelsea in the summer of 2024, accompanied by a publication featuring a critical essay by the curator.
Artist Cohort Convening (anticipated June 5—7, 2024)
Artists will travel to New York City for a three-day convening of the artist cohort, featuring: the exhibition’s opening reception; in-gallery critiques with invited artists, curators, and other arts professionals; private visits to publishers, workshops, and galleries, developed based on the cohort’s interests and needs; and a shared meal to build community in-person.
Public Programs
Each artist will participate in one public program (either in-person or online). Artists will help determine the content, focus, and format of their public programming in collaboration with Print Center New York staff. Programs could include artist-led tours, moderated conversations, hands-on workshops, or performances.
Artistic and Professional Development
Alongside individual opportunities, the summer will be punctuated by two virtual meetings of the cohort focused on idea and resource exchange. Other development opportunities may include practical skill-building sessions, one-on-one studio visits, informal group crits, or presentations from thinkers and professionals in the field. Activities will be virtual or in-person as opportunities allow; artists will not be expected to travel to participate.
