Art House is an emerging artist incubator and leadership program that provides mentorship, accessibility, and opportunities for recently graduated API emerging artists. By providing equitable opportunities, accessibility, and visibility, Art House acts as a bridge that connects API artists with the larger art community and a foundation for success in the art world. The second cycle of the Art House program runs from August 2026 to April 2027.

Eligibility:
The Art House Open Call is open for submission from May 23 to July 18, 2026 and is receiving applications from artists who meet the following criteria:
- Applicants must be graduating this year or have graduated within the past year (Class of 2025/26)
- Identify as Asian Pacific Islander (API)
- Maintain an active fine art practice with the intention of presenting at fine art galleries and institutions at a professional level
- Reside in or relocating to New York City from August 2026 to April 2027 or have regular access to the five boroughs while being based in nearby parts of New Jersey, Connecticut, and upstate New York; due to the nature of frequent in-person workshops and activities, Civil Art will take into account an applicant’s proximity to New York City during the selection process
- Have a schedule that allows for consistent participation and attendance to Art House events and commitments
Art House is built to provide equitable opportunities to API emerging artists, and all submitted applications will be reviewed under the criteria of merit and quality of artwork and statements provided, potential impact Art House could have on your career trajectory, and the sincerity and professionalism in the application materials.
Please fill out all required fields. Civil Art highly encourages you to complete every section, even those not marked as mandatory. For this cycle of Art House, Civil Art will be selecting up to 16 candidates.
Finalists will be contacted on July 25 and results will be announced in early August. Candidates who are not accepted into the program will still be considered for future Civil Art opportunities. The organization deeply appreciates you taking the time to fill out their application.
Requirements
- Must have graduated/graduating from an arts degree program within the past year (class of 2025/26)
- Identifies as Asian Pacific Islander (API)
- Maintains an active fine art practice with the intention of presenting at art galleries and or institutions at a professional level
- Living or planning to reside in New York/able to regularly commute to New York City from August 2026 to April 2027
