Ti Zwazo Films is seeking a Filipino actor (around the ages of 25–30) for the role of Manny in ‘Between Worlds’, a poetic and intimate short film. They are open to actors of Southeast Asian descent who can authentically portray a Filipino character.
Logline
During a citywide blackout in New York City, a Haitian spiritual shop owner and a Filipino chef find unexpected connection beyond words—sharing dreams, memories, and the quiet hope for something more.
This is a nuanced, character-driven story about presence, longing, and the quiet ways people reach across cultural divides and emotional walls.
Role
Manny is a contemplative, twenty-something Filipino chef — thoughtful and reserved, but with a deep warmth beneath his quiet demeanor. New York’s relentless pace has worn on him, but he finds solace in memories of home and in the comfort of cooking. His unspoken hope for connection and a gentler life lingers beneath his steady, resilient exterior. LEAD
Requirements
Must be available to film in the New York City area (exact dates TBD).
