New York Asian Design Week (NYADW) 2026 invites designers, artists, architects, makers, and creative practitioners to submit work for Traces of Force, the inaugural physical edition of NYADW.
The exhibition explores how force, material, body, environment, memory, and culture shape physical design today. Selected works will be exhibited at Gallery 456 in New York City from August 5–21, 2026 as part of New York Asian Design Week.
The exhibition considers physical design as a record of encounters between idea and material, body and environment, memory and transformation. Applicants are encouraged to submit work that investigates material behavior, resistance, adaptation, cultural memory, and the traces left by forces acting upon form.
