Newfest launches the third year of the New Voices Filmmaker Grant, an initiative to support emerging LGBTQ+ directors, in partnership with Netflix! By supporting the next generation of LGBTQ+ directors, the New Voices Grant will work to combat the structural barriers that have historically led to a lack of authentic representation. This program is an exciting step toward increasing queer visibility in film and expanding opportunities for talented queer storytellers. A cohort of four directors will each receive a $25,000 grant to support professional development and create new work, and will have access to network-building opportunities through a mentorship track facilitated by NewFest.
Submissions are accepted for documentary, narrative, animated or episodic projects by and about the LGBTQ+ community 🏳️🌈
