Playwrights Horizons, an award-winning off-Broadway theater located in the heart of Manhattan, seeks a candidate to become an integral member of a 6-person marketing staff. Playwrights Horizons develops and produces the new work of emerging and established American playwrights and musical theater artists.

JOB SUMMARY

Maintain and enhance Playwrights Horizons’ audience insight efforts, bolster annual season package and show-specific campaign processes and collateral, and support the day-to-day operations of a digital-forward marketing department.

Requirements

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

-Conduct audience research, data analysis, and list segmentation within our CRM, Audienceview, and on digital platforms such as Google Analytics, translating these efforts into regular reports.

  • Coordinate direct mail efforts from list selection and cleaning to proofing and deployment.

  • Assist with content and collateral development and execution across multiple channels (print, web, social, on-site).

  • Help with department project management and perform tasks critical to creative and campaign project execution

  • Aid in maintaining operational success during annual subscription marketing campaign

  • Build sales and promotions assets for outside vendors;

  • Serve as institutional representative for group sales;

  • Track department expenses across multiple shows and campaigns

  • Provide top-line support to Box Office staff for escalated customer service needs

  • Support senior marketing staff in new program development, especially related to young audience growth and digital native content development

  • Attend performances, events, and other company functions as assigned. Some evenings required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

-0-2 years marketing experience (internship or full-time), preferably within an arts organization, advertising agency, or comparable environment

-Detail-oriented, strong communicator with solid quantitative analytical skills;
CRM database and/or Box Office experience a plus (AudienceView, Tessitura, or similar platform)

-Interest in serving the performing arts a must

-Interest in or experience with project management platforms (BaseCamp, Asana, Jira, etc.) and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver) a plus.
