Ma-Yi Theater Company NYC BIPOC Micro-Grant

Ma-Yi Theater Company is a professional, award-winning not-for-profit 501©(3) organization whose primary mission is to develop and produce new and innovative plays by Asian American writers. Since its founding, Ma-Yi has distinguished itself as one of the country’s leading incubators of new works shaping local and national conversations about what it means to be Asian American today.

In acknowledgment of the crisis surrounding COVID-19 and the prolonged shut down of live theater and other events, the Ma-Yi Theater NYC BIPOC Micro - Grant was established to help those who have struggled through the pandemic. This includes all creatives (designers, actors, directors, playwrights, poets, musicians, choreographers, dancers, painters, sculptors, video artists, etc.)

Through the generosity of Play-Per View’s reading of Carla Ching’s REVENGE PORN, starring Ken Leung, Tina Huang, Amy Hill, Kahyun Kim, Christopher Larkin, Roland Ruiz, and directed by Bernardo Cubría, this micro-grant fund was established.

Requirements

Ten (10) creative focused, NYC BIPOC, Transgender, and disabled applicants will be chosen to receive $500. This includes all creative outlets (designers, actors, directors, playwrights, poets, musicians, choreographers, dancers, painters, sculptors, video artists, and other craftspersons )

How the funding is used will be up to the discretion of the chosen applicant.

Grant Application open from March 29th, 2021 - April 9th, 2021
Winners will be notified privately April 16th, 2021
Public Announcement of winners will be Monday, April 19th, 2021
