Lumpen Magazine 142: Democrazy

Lumpen Magazine is a Chicago-based independent arts publication that responds to the politics, culture, and movements of our times. In preparation for the Democratic National Convention in August, they are inviting contributors to confront the legacy of the 1968 DNC protests and engage with the urgent contemporary movements that will bring people back to our streets this year.

Pitch them about past countercultures, the 2024 elections, or the worlds that are possible tomorrow.

This call is open to national and international contributors with an emphasis on community organizers and creatives working towards radical change.

Requirements

WHAT TO SUBMIT

• Written Contributions (i.e. essays, interviews, etc.)
  Submissions must be between 800-2400 words

• Artwork (i.e. comics, posters)
  Dimensions for posters: 9x12 inches or 12x18 inches; Dimensions for comics: 1-4 pages at 9x12 inches each

• DNC Events (i.e. actions, workshops, poetry readings etc)
  Events must occur during the week of August 19-22 to be listed on our convention calendar
