Looking for lead actress in one act play - starting immediately

I’m looking to cast one of the two leads in my one act play “By Your Side” which will be a part of the Chain One Act Theatre Festival in NYC from July 23-August 14th. I need to finalize casting by the end of the week. The character is a woman in her 70s, but I’m open to working with a younger actress and to transforming her with makeup and hair.

I’m looking to fill the following role:

[MRS. YANG]

50 to 80 years old, South Asian, Southeast Asian, East Asian female. Mrs. Yang came to U.S. as a young girl from Singapore. She’s worked as a salesperson her whole life. She is now a retired widow and lives alone. Her husband passed away 50 years ago and she often daydreams about her happy days together. During one such daydream she is yanked back into reality by a young Black man who knocks on her apartment door, looking for a place to hide. She grants him refuge and they gradually form a bond through their shared feelings of not belonging and having both experienced loss and the inability to control their circumstances.

Requirements

This production is NON UNION.
The venue requires all participants to show proof of vaccination.
Here are the key dates with rehearsals starting next week:
Tech: 7/21 10-2pm
Shows: 7/25 5pm, 7/28 6pm, 8/8 5pm, 8/11 6pm

Payment: I am producing this without a budget, but I can offer a $50 flat fee, as well as footage of the performances.
