LOWER MANHATTAN CULTURAL COUNCIL (LMCC) empowers artists by providing them with networks, resources, and support, to create vibrant, sustainable communities in Lower Manhattan and beyond. In 2023, LMCC will present more than 60 days of free arts and cultural experiences for the public to enjoy, place over 100 artists in our residency programs, award approximately $1.5 million in grants to artists and small arts organizations, and provide artists with valuable professional development opportunities.

ABOUT OUR INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
An ideal ‘out-of-the-classroom’ learning environment in a 45+ year old, New York City-based, non-profit arts organization.
Connects you to a robust network of professional connections and gives you hands-on experience.
Perfect for college students, recent graduates, or a young adults looking to make a career transition.
Interns are paired with one staff member to concentrate on their internship focus, while gaining exposure to all departments in our collaborative-minded office.

Internship Focuses:
Based on your internship focus, you will be paired with a staff member at LMCC to contribute your knowledge, apply your skills, and deepen your interests and find new ones too. We are currently recruiting for the following departments:

Community Initiatives & Grantmaking
Public Programs
Finance and Admin
Artist Residencies
Marketing and Communications

Internships are for approximately 4-6 months for an average of 20-24 hours per week, including supporting evening and weekend events. A travel/ meal stipend of $350 per month will be provided for the duration of the internship. Start and end dates are flexible and agreed upon prior to the start of the internship.
