The University of Florida School of Theatre and Dance seeks a highly skilled and motivated Lighting and Digital Media Manager (UF official title: Fine Arts Production Specialist) to join our team. This position requires leadership with expertise in theatrical lighting, projections, rigging, and a passion for creative problem-solving. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient operation of the Electrics and Digital Media Area, overseeing the installation and maintenance of lighting and digital media equipment, managing budgets and schedules, and serving as a leader. This role centers around close collaboration with students, faculty, staff, and guest artists to support three to five productions per semester (fall and spring) and one to two summer productions. Electrics and digital media production activities take place in the school’s proscenium theatre, black box theatre, a versatile dance studio that doubles as a performance space, the electrics shop, and a dedicated lighting lab. This position reports to the Producing Director and supervises lighting graduate assistants and one part-time student assistant.
Expected Salary:

Requirements
A high school diploma and six years of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
The successful candidate will meet some of the following:
- A bachelor’s degree in lighting, technical theatre, or related field.
- Three or more years of leadership experience in live entertainment electrics, including supervising others in a collaborative environment and managing projects/processes.
- Evidence of successful collaboration and collegiality with faculty, students, and staff or collaborators in a production environment.
- Experience interpreting, hanging, and implementing lighting plots and digital media system diagrams.
- Experience with ETC Eos family lighting consoles and programming, including moving lights, LEDs, DMX, and sACN lighting network system.
- Knowledge of QLab, MIDI/OSC control, and WATCHOUT.
- Knowledge of theatrical rigging and safety standards.
- Basic Microsoft office skills, including Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, and TEAMS and proficiency in Vectorworks or AutoCAD and Lightwright.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize competing demands. Evidence of establishing and maintaining organizational and operational systems that optimize workflow.
- Budget management experience.
- Ability to identify and promote skill-building with undergraduate and graduate students working in the Electrics and Digital Media Area.
- Evidence of skill in designing and facilitating work that advances curiosity, inclusion, open intellectual discourse, and the well-being of all in an environment of complex diversities.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
