Bruce Tetsuya is a Japanese film director and father of two, currently based between Denver, CO and Monterey, CA. After years of writing, dreaming, and preparing, he is officially in development for his first feature film; a deeply personal story that explores themes of personal identity, memory, parenthood, and navigating grief.
Some of the core subjects and themes of the film are:
AAPI Cultural Identity
Depression and Mental Health
Pregnancy & Baby Loss Support
Dementia & Alzheimer’s Care
His mission is to create an eternal, beautiful, and poignant film that is made independently from Hollywood studios, and that illustrates a powerful story of healing through catharsis. He has distribution channels and festival relations in place, so the project will be seen by millions across the globe. But he needs to make the film, first.
As of June 1st, he’s successfully raised $250,000 (half) of the $500,000 funding goal through a combination of private investments, grants, and support from other nonprofit partners. He is now seeking mission-aligned partners and organizations to support the next phase of production.
