Casting the lead role of Queenie for the feature film Lucky Lu (previously called Same Old).
Logline: Set against a kinetic NYC backdrop, this intimate drama tells the story of an immigrant delivery rider whose reality is turned upside down when his only source of income, his rented e-bike is stolen. With his family en route from China, Lu must contend with the battlefield that is New York City, and a community that has turned its back on him while he tries to replace the only thing promising to keep his family afloat.
Character Queenie: 6-11 to play 8, East Asian, female. Lu’s daughter. Precocious, confident, and gutsy. She is finally moving to New York City to reunite with her father, who she hasn’t seen in person for over four years. They’ve remained in contact solely over video chat. She spends the day with him, exploring the city with curiosity and fearlessness. But her world is shaken when she starts to piece together the truth about her father’s life in America. MUST BE FLUENT IN MANDARIN.
This role shoots about two weeks in New York City from December 2024 to January 2025. Pays $4180/week. Looking for Mandarin-speaking Chinese girls nationwide. The production will cover travel, lodging, and per diem for out-of-town kids.
