Committee of 100 (C100) is seeking a full-time staff Director of Events & Member Engagement. You will work across departments to curate our members’ experience both within C100 and externally. This means identifying opportunities for engagement between members through communications, programs and events (virtual and physical when safety permits). The role will be focused on strategy, visioning, relationship-building as well as execution of programming, and managing existing and upcoming programs and projects. This position will oversee an Event Operations Manager and Events Content Manager.

What you will do:

. Partner with vendors and staff to plan and flawlessly execute C100’s Annual Conferences (one in the US, one in China)
. Lead the team in planning and executing other special events such as Virtual Talks and Virtual Town Halls on current topics impacting the Chinese American community or the AAPI community
. Conceptualize and execute small member only events designed to keep members engaged
. Ensure member voices are fully integrated in, and member participation is maximized across all streams of C100 work (including programs, communications, external affairs)
. Work with members to identify opportunities to amplify members’ work internally and externally
. Devise creative ways to update and connect with members to assure that they feel valued and provide opportunities for them to participate in C100 programs/events
. Conduct outreach to existing members and new members on a regular basis to ensure members are appreciating the value of membership
. Ensure external facing information on members – bios, programs, in the news – is updated on the website in a timely and systemic manner

Requirements

. 5+ years of work experience in a membership organization
. Strong commitment to vision, mission, and values of C100
. Experience with putting together large conferences from start to finish
. Experience with recommending and engaging high quality speakers
. Ability to network with, identify and secure exceptional partners and vendors for all events/programs
. Self-starter with significant initiative, intuition, autonomy, and drive; able to work independently with little need for close management
. Proven ability to lead a team
. Personable, relatable, and relationship-oriented—works well with all types/levels of people
. Thoughtful and insightful—ability to anticipate, appreciate and reconcile diverse perspectives
. Flexible and dynamic—can adapt and iterate to changing or ambiguous circumstances smoothly
. Keen attention to detail and ability to produce consistently high-quality work
. Experience in collaborating with multiple departments
