With 16 Asia Society locations around the world, Asia Society seeks a fall intern passionate about Asia’s culture, arts, policy, business, and more, and promoting our mission-driven work to build bridges between Asia and the world. The position is responsible for supporting digital content creation.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, a natural storyteller with excellent communication skills and the diligence to create programming, social, and marketing content of Asia Society headquarters and the 15 locations globally. They will have a strong editorial sense with an eye for detail to produce high-quality digital content.

Help create and appear in video, graphics, and multimedia content for Asia Society’s digital platforms, including, but not limited to, social videos, GIFs, memes, podcasts, audiograms, and motion graphics.
Help coordinate and record in the Asia Society video studio
Help identify social clips from our program events and videos
Help compile and secure influencers for major events like Asia Game Changers
Cover Asia Society events in person by posting to Instagram Stories and identifying post-event highlights for social media
Schedule and create social media posts
Perform additional related duties as needed

Job Type: Temporary

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Overtime-Eligible)

Compensation: $16.50/hour

Schedule: 20-25 hours per week for 8-10 weeks

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in a related/relevant subject area
  • 1-2 years of experience creating multimedia content and posting on social media.
  • Proven experience with YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, X, Threads, LinkedIn, and Facebook

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere, After Effects, CapCut, or other video editing tools
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Canva, or other design software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong editorial judgment
  • Knowledge of social media trends
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to adhere to deadlines
  • Ability to manage multiple incoming requests and communicate effectively and professionally with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Basic familiarity with social media data analysis

Preferred Skills

  • Comfortable being in both front of and behind the camera
  • Experience with AI tools and third-party scheduling platforms like Sprout
  • Interest in Asia and Asia Society’s work
  • Proficiency in an Asian language
