About New York Theatre Workshop:
At New York Theatre Workshop, we work relentlessly to empower visionary theatre‐makers and bring their work to adventurous audiences through productions, artist workshops and education and community engagement programs. Since our founding in 1979, we’ve produced over 150 fully‐realized productions including Jonathan Larson’s Rent; Tony Kushner’s Homebody/Kabul; Doug Wright’s Quills; Claudia Shear’s Dirty Blonde; Rick Elice’s Peter and the Starcatcher; Glen Hansard, Markéta Irglová and Enda Walsh’s Once; and David Bowie and Enda Walsh’s Lazarus. Enabling our artists to push boundaries generates work like Anaïs Michell’s Hadestown, Mfoniso Udofia’s Ufot Family Cycle, Heidi Schreck’s What the Constitution Means to Me and Jeremy O. Harris’s Slave Play. NYTW productions have received a Pulitzer Prize, 25 Tony Awards, 2 Grammy Awards and numerous Obie, Drama Desk and Lucille Lortel Awards.

But that’s not what we’re proudest of. We take the greatest satisfaction from the community we’ve built, and the perspective‐shifting experiences we’ve delivered along the way. Even in the middle of a global pandemic, our community has continued to deepen existing connections and expand into new ones. From calls to check in on each other to grants for our artists to brand new education programming, our staff, trustees, artists and audiences have shared in in more than 70 virtual events attended by nearly 70,000 people over the past twelve months. We all think that theatre can bring people together, change the conversation, and have a profound impact. We feel fortunate to get to support it. About the Team:
Our development team includes six full‐time and one part‐time employee led by the Director of Development, and they oversee all aspects of fundraising for this Off-Broadway theatre. The Development Associate, Individual Giving and Special Events reports directly to the Director of Special Events and the Director of Individual Giving and works closely with every member of the development team.

About the Position:
o Is a key member of the Development team, responsible for supporting the Director of Individual Giving and the Director of Special Events in all of their fundraising activities.
o Serves as concierge to members of our Individual Donor and Patron program, The Society of Repeat Defenders as well as other major donors, and event attendees. Concierge services include invitation tracking, ticket booking, and payment processing, among others.
o Is an active participant in working toward the development department’s equity, diversity and inclusion goals and serves on the Audience Services Committee alongside members of the Marketing and Development teams.
o Manages payment processing for all artists and vendors for Development events.
o Oversees planning and execution for 4th Street Bar Association (4SBA), our young donor program.
o Conducts prospect research and wealth screening to help identify new potential funders for NYTW and its programs.
o Coordinates direct mail and email campaigns. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to list segmentation, securing print & mail house vendors, printing, mailing, delivery and acknowledgement of gifts.
o With the Marketing team, oversees content, creation, and calendar of deadlines for (Work)Shop Talk, our monthly member and donor newsletter.
o Keeps team on track by managing a comprehensive calendar of deadlines.
o Utilizes NYTW’s donor database to pull reports for the Development department.
o Stewards donors by preparing weekly acknowledgement letters for all gifts of support.
o Collaborates with fellow Development Associate to create Annual Report.
o Contributes to the success of the annual Gala by taking on responsibilities as assigned.
o Cultivates and stewards donor relationships, assists in renewal wave outreach and communication, and attends events to help the team as needed.

This position is overtime eligible. Salary is $42,500. Benefits include employer paid medical, dental and life insurance and paid time off.
