Cultural Space Subsidy Program

Recognizing that market rents are not feasible for all, the Two Trees Cultural Space Subsidy Program awards below-market rent to applicants who best demonstrate their capabilities and intent to provide a social benefit to DUMBO and the broader Brooklyn community.

Available Spaces: Two Trees’ landmarked, commercial loft buildings are located in DUMBO, Brooklyn. Available spaces range from 1,000-2,500 RSF with a monthly cost of $1,500-$3,000, plus utilities. Spaces have windows, air conditioning, and heat and are equipped for phone and high-speed data.

Requirements

Eligibility: Emerging and mid-career artists with a strong exhibition history or community-focused practice are eligible to apply. Artists will be evaluated with a focus on the quality of their work, past community engagement, and financial need. Production studios, commercial artists, designers, theater, or dance companies are not eligible. Artists and organizations currently participating in a program sponsored by Two Trees or the Walentas Family Foundation are not eligible.

Application Instructions

The 2024 CSSP application will be available starting June 1, 2024, with an application deadline of July 1, 2024, for leases beginning in early 2025.
