Role Title: Creative Content Producer (Video Shooter/Editor)
Type: Part-time / Project-based Freelance (potential ongoing partnership)
Location: New York Metropolitan Area for shoots (remote editing welcome)

About the Brand — Bo & Mei (www.boandmei.com)
Bo & Mei creates modern games, puzzles, and activities that bring culture to life through play—helping families connect, learn, celebrate, and pass down traditions with love.

The brand is thoughtful, design-forward, and deeply rooted in storytelling and heritage.

Bo & Mei is not building loud hype or performative “community.” Social content here isn’t about spectacle; it’s about sincerity, memory, and culture shared gently.

Their presence online is a warm archive, not a megaphone.

Mother Tongue Media (www.mothertonguemedia.org) is supporting Bo & Mei in finding the right creative partner who understands and resonates with this philosophy.

Please note:
- All applications will go through Mother Tongue Media (hiring partner) for review.
- Please do NOT contact Bo & Mei directly for this role.
- Shortlisted candidates will be introduced to Founder at the final round.

This Role
They’re looking for a hands-on Creative Content Producer who can receive creative direction from Founder and execute end-to-end: from shooting → editing → delivery.

This is a maker’s role: someone who enjoys capturing moments, shaping them in post, and bringing a brand’s visual language to life with care rather than noise. The ideal partner values meaning over metrics, taste over trends, and creates from a place of genuine curiosity.

If you love small, human stories, and you’re excited by work grounded in culture, childhood, and intergenerational connection — you’ll likely thrive here!

Requirements

Responsibilities
- Translate creative concepts into shootable content plans
- Film short-form video content (studio, lifestyle, product moments, founder journey reflections & authentic BTS)
- Edit for IG/TikTok formats (9:16 primary) with sensitivity to rhythm & story
- Light motion/text graphics when needed
- Maintain file organization + smooth delivery workflow
- Collaborate with Founder to shape tone, voice, and visual consistency
- Help build a sustainable cadence for social content

Nice-to-haves (not required but exciting):
- Basic copywriting for simple titles/captions
- Experience with kids/parenting/lifestyle products
- Understanding of pan-AAPI cultural design + heritage themes

What They’re Looking For
- A portfolio or sizzle reel showcasing shooting + editing ability (please only send pieces produced and/or edited by you directly)
- Strong eye for composition, color, and natural light
- Proficiency in a major editing tool (Premiere Pro / FinalCut Pro / DaVinci / CapCut Pro)
- Able to work independently with clear direction
- Calm, grounded energy; not hype-chasing or boastful
- Appreciates why brands are built, not just how content is made

Sample Deliverables (subject to specific scope)
- Around 3–6 short-form videos per month
- Roughly 1–2 light shoot days per month (NYC-based preferred)
- Light revisions when necessary

Onboarding Timeline
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis beginning immediately.
Their goal is to identify a candidate before the new year and begin onboarding in early January 2026.

Ideal flow:
Now → Dec 21: Portfolio review + short conversations
Dec 22–Jan 5: Final interviews & selection
Early Jan: Start of partnership

They understand holidays are approaching and will move thoughtfully.
