Madison Square Park Conservancy (MSPC) is the nonprofit entrusted by the City of New York to operate Madison Square Park, a 6.2-acre public space in the heart of Manhattan. Our mission is to conserve, maintain, and program this ever-evolving historic green space, including raising 100% of the park’s operating budget. Anchoring a diverse and vibrant live-work community, Madison Square Park is both an intimate neighborhood park and an international destination for 60,000 daily visitors. A public space since 1686, the park has long been a gathering place for people from all walks of life. Today, it is also a public garden, urban forest, wildlife habitat, public art exhibition space, a haven for children and pets to play, and one of New York City’s most transcendent and welcoming places.

Position Summary
The Corporate & Foundation Giving Senior Manager at Madison Square Park Conservancy is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive strategy to identify and secure funding from corporate partners and manages foundation giving within all focus areas of MSPC, including art, horticulture, capital projects and more. This role is crucial in supporting MSPC’s mission to maintain and enhance Madison Square Park as a vibrant public space. The Manager will identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward corporate and foundation donors, ensuring strong, lasting relationships that contribute to the organization’s long-term financial sustainability and programmatic success. The Manager will work closely with and manage the Associate for Corporate Relations & Program/Event Operations and collaborate with and assist business development and grant-writing consultants.

Key Responsibilities

Foundation - Institutional - Government and Corporate Giving

  • Work closely with grant-writing consultant on editing, finalizing, submitting, and uploading all grant requests and reports
  • Conduct foundation and government prospect research across all areas of support for the Park, including art, horticulture, special projects, and general operations
  • Maintain grant tracker and CRM platform in relation to foundation, corporate, government, and institutional giving
  • Develop and implement a plan and program for corporate donors and members that aligns with MSPC goals and priorities
  • Plan corporate volunteer and activation days as part of corporate membership and marketing activations, and support and manage the Associate for Corporate Relations & Program/Event Operations in organizing and running these events
  • Work with a Business Development consultant to identify and foster corporate relationships
  • Identify and research prospective corporate sponsors and members, creating tailored engagement and solicitation strategies
  • Prepare compelling proposals, sponsorship packages, and reports to secure and maintain funding
  • Manage a portfolio of corporate and foundation donors, ensuring consistent communication, engagement, and stewardship, with support from leadership

Relationship Management

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective corporate and foundation donors, including regular outreach, meetings, and updates
  • Collaborate with program staff to align sponsorship opportunities with organizational needs and priorities
  • Coordinate site visits, donor recognition events, and other activities to engage and acknowledge corporate and foundation partners
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting to donors, fulfilling all grant and sponsorship requirements.

Collaboration & Coordination

  • Work closely with the Development team to integrate giving strategies with overall fundraising plan
  • Partner with the Communications team to provide content and deliver impactful donor communications, including newsletters, social media, and press releases
  • Collaborate with program and finance teams to monitor the use of grant funds and ensure compliance with donor requirements
  • Assist where needed across all areas of MSPC activities, particularly Development and Communications
  • Represent MSPC at member/supporter events, including Art Council outings, friendraising events, and other potential touch points

Data Management & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of corporate and foundation donor interactions, proposals, and contributions in the CRM system
  • Track and analyze giving trends, providing regular reports to the full Development and External Affairs team
  • Prepare reports and presentations on corporate and foundation giving for board meetings and other key events

Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, in relevant field; in lieu of a degree, consideration will be given to relevant field experience and certificate programs
  • A minimum of six years of professional nonprofit foundation and corporate experience
  • Exceptional, persuasive and clear communication, particularly adapting styles to differing audiences
  • Developed interpersonal, customer service and project management skills
  • Grant tracking, reporting, and prospecting
  • Computer and technical acumen across operating systems and programs, as well as Google drive, Canva, Constant Contact, Donor Perfect, with the ability to learn additional programs as needed
  • Experience directly related to position description, including event planning, production, and management, as well as directly with public events
  • Dexterity and agility in working with a team and individually to meet deadlines and objectives, while maintaining balance and order
  • Personal accountability towards the impact of actions and decisions

Compensation, Benefits and Schedule

Annual Salary Range: $70,000 – $75,000, depending on relevant experience
