Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, the philanthropic heart of Broadway, is looking for a project manager for its Communications team.

This newly restructured position will establish and manage timelines and deadlines for projects handled by the team, which include all marketing, advertising and promotional material for events produced by Broadway Cares and its programs, Dancers Responding to AIDS and Classical Action, as well as non-event initiatives led by Development and Retail Outreach.

The Communications Project Manager will work hand-in-hand with the team and other departments across the organization ensuring deliverables are clearly identified, projects stay on track, team members and other key stakeholders are consistently updated and expectations appropriately managed. The position reports to the Director of Communications.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and prioritize projects from kickoff to completion, including creating project schedules, tracking timelines, coordinating approvals and ensuring all deliverables are met
- Manage consistent communications with all team members on a project to ensure transparency and timeliness
- Establish processes and procedures for all elements of a project, particularly those that are repeated across multiple projects
- Identify and implement project management tools needed to facilitate effective communication and tracking, and work proactively with team members to ensure they are trained in those tools
- Support Director of Communications and other team members in the establishment of goals and success metrics for event campaigns and projects
- Source and manage relationships with key vendors (i.e. printers/suppliers)
- Facilitate meetings as necessary with collaborators and maintain list of action items to support individual accountability and timeliness
- Leverage best practices and apply lessons learned from previous projects, actively sharing knowledge and learning from project experiences
- Manage the organization’s Slack channels
- Participate with the entire Broadway Cares staff in facilitating audience appeals, which take place in the evenings and on weekends
- Be available to participate in numerous evening and weekend events and projects

Requirements

  • 2-3 years experience as a project manager or project coordinator within a communications or creative environment
  • Confidence in managing constantly evolving projects
  • Ability to create strong relationships and build trust within cross-functional teams
  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage time while inspiring others to meet deadlines in a collaborative spirit
  • Ability to actively participate in problem resolution, reacting positively and quickly to changing dynamics
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced creative environment
  • Ability to work within strict deadlines, both independently and with a close-knit team
