A4 is seeking a full-time Communications and Database Manager to join our small, but growing, team. The Communications and Database Manager is responsible for developing an overall communications strategy and executing a plan to cultivate and maintain A4’s audience engagement, build organizational awareness, and expand audience accessibility in line with A4’s values of equity and inclusion.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement a constituent tracking and engagement plan, develop communication plans for events and organizational milestones, and help ensure programmatic goals are met.
- Create a process for data analysis (including Google Analytics) to evaluate communications and website metrics, programmatic and communications success and effectiveness, and audience engagement.
- Produce and oversee content calendar and maintain engaged presence on A4’s social media channels (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn), website, newsletter, e-blasts, and other online platforms (Google Arts & Culture, YouTube).
- Write copy and oversee editorial content and consistency of voice for the A4 website and bi-weekly e-newsletter, Google Arts & Culture project, and e-blasts.
- Write press releases, cultivate press lists, and develop relationships with press contacts and community organizations to broaden awareness of A4, our programs and services, as well as building visibility with marketing tools such as Google Ads and Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
- Monitor the organization’s visual and general brand identity, ensuring message discipline and consistent visual identity.
- Design and create collateral, visual assets, presentations, and promotional materials to support the marketing, communications, and outreach for all public programs, events, and magazine activity.
- Edit and post videos of A4 programs and events on the organization’s YouTube channel.
- Stay informed of current social media, content marketing strategies trends, and AAPI issues.
- Manage the constituent database to ensure constituent information is updated on a regular basis, provide monthly reports, and manage data for targeted communications.
- Perform basic photography and videography tasks as needed and/or supervise external vendors to document public programs.
- Perform additional duties as needed: hire and supervise interns, assist with Zoom production, attend A4 events, and engage in other communications, database, and community engagement tasks.
The Communications and Database Manager reports to the Executive Director. This is a full-time, hybrid position (40 hours per week with occasional evenings; Tuesdays and Thursdays are in-person, other days are remote).
Salary: $60,000 plus competitive benefits package (health insurance, paid vacation, sick leave, Federal holidays, week off between Christmas and New Year’s)
Requirements
This position requires a highly organized and creative individual who has a passion for the arts and the role they play in fostering a vibrant and healthy society. A demonstrated commitment to the arts and/or Asian American Pacific Islander issues is preferred.
The successful candidate should have three to five years of hand-on communications experience in the arts and a general understanding of artists’ and or non-profit organizational issues across artistic disciplines. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (both written and spoken), a collaborative and collegial working style (especially on a small team), and the ability to take initiative and handle multiple projects and deadlines are a must. Experience developing a communications strategy, building a press list, forming relationships with media, writing press releases and organizational communications, and monitoring/growing constituent engagement is a plus. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, content management systems, Google Analytics, email marketing software, social scheduling platforms, and database software will be necessary for success in this role.
