Columbia thesis play written by Srujanee Mishra called ‘Nowhere on Land is Mine’, set to premiere at Columbia University’s New Play Festival on April 26. https://newplayfestival.wixsite.com/nowhereonlandismine
Logline: Sharvani postpones her looming graduation and arranged marriage by returning to her ancestral village under the guise of thesis research. Guided by the ghost of India’s youngest freedom fighter, she becomes the letter–writing scribe for the village women, whose comedic and heartfelt tales reveal the subjective and often contradictory nature of what it means to be independent.
