Looking for three Filipino actors for upcoming NYU Student Thesis
Logline: A young woman is determined to lose her virginity, when she consults a priest about her qualms she uncovers uncanny happenings within a church prayer group.
Nadja Diaz (Filipina/Southeast Asian, Early 20s, Woman, Lead): Cynical about dating and men in general, she bears the weight of her virginity, and it manifests as sexual frustration. Must be comfortable with intimacy, no nudity, IC will be present.
Father Aquino/Maria Clara (Filipino, 35-50, All Genders, Supporting): A humble and caring Filipino priest whose true passion is performance. Although they’re a Catholic priest by day, they also perform as a professional drag queen at the club by night, going by the stage name Maria Clara. Actor must be comfortable getting into drag. Drag experience not required, but let us know if you have any.
Sister Helen (Filipina, 40-60, Female, Supporting): An elder Filipina nun. While confessing to the group, she unabashedly admits that she sleeps with younger men and is openly polyamorous. Must have a Filipino accent (or can convincingly do one) and speak a few phrases in Tagalog. Fluency is a plus. Only needed for one shoot day.
