Columbia MFA film calling for Chinese-speaking actors (non-paid, negotiable).

At her 60th birthday party, a Chinese woman who has recently moved to the United States to live with her daughter tries to keep her daughter’s secrets from her new friends.

Requirements

>LEAD: Lin (50-60s, Chinese female, fluent in Mandarin)
After the death of her husband, she moves to the United States to stay with her daughter.

>LEAD: Jane (30s, Chinese female, fluent in Mandarin)
Born and raised in China, she has been living in the US for 15 years and got married with a woman without the knowledge of her parents.

>SUPPORTING: Sue (60s+, Chinese female, fluent in Mandarin) is Lin’s best friend at the church. She moved to the United States 8 years ago when Michelle was born. She is active in church and organizes many events and activities.

>SUPPORTING: Sally (late 30s, Chinese female, fluent in Mandarin), Sue’s daughter who has moved to the United States with her husband.

>SUPPORTING: Michelle (6-8, Asian girl) - guest at Lin’s birthday party, daughter of Sally, granddaughter of Sue.
