Seeking actors for a senior thesis film from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. This festival-bound and online-distributed project explores the journey of a Vietnamese man navigating life in the United States after a painful divorce. The film is a heartfelt exploration of Vietnamese culture, delving into its richness and complexities while addressing themes of identity, resilience, and belonging. This is a deeply personal story for the creator, aiming to bring greater representation to Vietnamese language, culture, and traditions on screen.

Requirements

Roles

TAI (Lead, 45-65): A middle-aged Vietnamese immigrant in America, struggling with the fallout of a 20-year marriage destroyed by gambling addiction. Isolated and unable to communicate due to limited English, he remains determined to connect with his family. Must be proficient in Vietnamese.

XAN (Supporting, 45-64): A Vietnamese man and Tai’s friend/co-worker, bonded through shared culture and a love of gambling. While Tai feels uneasy around Xan, his gambling urges keep them connected. Must be proficient in Vietnamese.
