CALL FOR WRITERS (Unpaid)

Naya Magazine is looking for writers interested in contributing thoughtful and engaging work centered on AAPI and Asian diasporic experiences. They welcome writers from a wide range of backgrounds and disciplines. Areas of interest may include, but are not limited to:
• Arts and culture
• Community
• Science and research
• Humanities
• Commentary and politics
• Film and literature
• Features and interviews
• Reviews of exhibitions, performances, films, books, and other cultural works

Requirements

They are currently accepting interest from:
• Contributing Writers who would like to submit one-off pitches or individual pieces
• Staff Writers who are interested in contributing to Naya Magazine on a more consistent, long-term basis

While they welcome diverse subjects, approaches, and writing styles, all proposed work should foreground AAPI or Asian diasporic perspectives, communities, or experiences. This is a remote, unpaid volunteer opportunity.

Application Instructions

Please send the following materials:
• A CV or résumé
• One or two writing samples
• A short note introducing yourself, explaining what you would like to write about, and describing why you are interested in contributing to NAYA
• An indication of whether you are interested in submitting a one-off pitch or joining as a consistent staff writer
