Description:

BAWS Art Gallery invites submissions for their upcoming exhibition, “Light & Shadows,” focusing on the dynamic interplay between light and darkness. Artists are encouraged to explore how light—whether through shadows, reflections, direct illumination, or more abstract interpretations—can transform their subject matter. They’re looking for works that capture the essence of light, using any 2D medium (excluding photography) to explore its many forms and effects.

From delicate contrasts to bold reflections, light has the power to shape perceptions of space and time. They invite artists to interpret this theme in ways that are personal, experimental, or traditional, as long as the emphasis remains on the presence of light and shadow.

Submission Guidelines:

Open to 2D works, excluding photography
Maximum size: 24” x 24”
All works must be framed, wired, and ready to hang
Submission is only open to local Boston-area artists
